I Have a Dream...

Happy New Year one and all! Yes, I know y’all missed me and the feeling is mutual. Its been a while but I promise that you will see more of me and I promise to be consistent. I also promise not to take up too much of you time so let me get straight to the point.

We all have our place in this world. We all have dreams and aspirations. Do we get equal opportunities to achieve these dreams and aspirations? No, we don’t! But as women; women of color we buss our asses daily to make these dreams a reality.

I completely understand that to achieve that dream you have to be determined and make sacrifices. As women of color we work twice as hard only to get overlooked, we are underpaid, we endure abuse and mistreatment. The determination and the drive within us would never allow us to give up, we continue to work because we never stop dreaming.

To achieve that dream you can’t sit around and wait to be included, don’t wait to be called on. Make the first move and never doubt the fact that you can break barriers too. As a woman of color you can be the game changer!

That shop you want to open, that blog/YouTube channel you want to start, that book you want to write, that degree you didn’t get, that Nicole Murphy at 50 body that you want so bad, oh baby you can have it all. Start now, put in the work and remain consistent!

Whatever it is work on it, forget those who don’t believe! You only need to believe in you and your dreams.

I have a dream that one day we will not have to fight for inclusion, that one day we will be sitting in the forefront. That as women of color we will rise to the occasion and be what we are called to be; true leaders. That we will not be afraid to speak out on issues that affect us.

Most importantly I have a dream because I have a little black girl to teach that she too can have dreams and that she can accomplish them. Her along with my nieces, cousins, the little black girls I teach and others I come in contact with need to know that they can be anything they want to be. They need to know that they can be powerful and influential; I have to pave the way!

Since we are on the topic of dreams, I always wanted to be a fashion designer. I don’t care if I have to start with a t-shirt line, that’s one step closer to realizing my dream.

So with that being said, I am happy to tell you that this crop hoodie sweat shirt is part of my very own t-shirt/sweat shirt line. It is available to order, just send me an email/DM for more information.

The shorts which was previously a male sweat pants I got from Walmart $7. All I did was cut off and cuff the legs and BOOM I have a shorts. The lace bodysuit is from Amazon $13. Don’t you just love how my edges are laid hunny? Yasss! It’s a wig by yours truly, I got the hair from UNice on Aliexpress. The shipping was fast and I love the hair.

I decided to go with less accessories to maintain that street look. I’m wearing hoops from Forever21 and nubs from Burlington. I’m still in love with my red boots from Steve Madden (gifted) and bag is Moschino (also gifted).

Until next time, never stop dreaming, stop doubting!

By the way, my post on my Christmas trip back home is coming. Please be patient. I just have to fulfill my baby’s request to do a blog post titled, I Have a Dream. Thank you for that idea Naomi.

Thank you guys for reading.
