Looking for Support...

Hey beautiful people! Happy weekend…

So, I am going to get straight to the point today. I really don’t want to take up too much of your time. First of all, let me start by saying how grateful I am for having wonderful and supportive people in my circle. Some days I don’t know how my stubborn and sensitive rump would make it without them.

I have gotten so much love from people all over the world, people I have never met. I have gotten crazy love from my friends and family here and back home in Jamaica. Some days I look at my blog stats and I am completely amazed how many people visit my blog. Y’all are the real MVPs!! Believe that…

There are so many of you out there that want to start something, and you are afraid that people won’t support you or that you might fail. That is completely normal and okay, but you will never know until you find it in you to go for it. Give it a try!

Don’t spend your time worrying about who is going to support you. Some of the people you know will support you and some of them won’t and that’s something that you will have to deal with. See, a lot of times we want support, loyalty and other things from people who are just not capable of doing any of the mentioned.

Some people think that supporting you is hindering them; you getting the spotlight is dimming their light. They can not see pass the fact that there is enough room for all these damn disco lights to shine. Have you ever seen a dance floor lit up with disco lights? How pretty that shit is, well it’s the same when we celebrate and cheer on each other. We look beautiful AF!

I don’t wanna hear, “Who is she talking about?” “Why is she throwing shade?” I’m not throwing shade, I rather to throw the whole tree! I’m just saying stay out of your feelings and get off your butts and chase your dreams. Stop worrying about support! It won’t be easy that I can tell you but trust me it will be worth it.

Forget those who don’t want to support you and be grateful for the ones in your corner. They are the only ones that matter. It will take some people some time to catch the wave, hopefully they don’t wait too late because there is a saying that goes like this, “By the time they decide to support you, they will have to book you.” Yup, just like that.

Anyway, since we are on the topic of support today my featured outfit is from a girl I admire so much for her strength and resilience. She fell a couple times, but she got back up and she is not looking back. My very vintage/old school looking jumpsuit is from my girl Nicole at The Style Mixx. I’ve had it for a while because I wasn’t sure how I wanted to style it. Confession!

I decided on the styling after I found this wide belt at Citi Trends for $2 (inserts dancing emoji). I immediately put the outfit together in my head right there in the store. I headed home to play dress up in my closet and I loved the outcome. The black beret $16 (old) from ASOS was a perfect addition to this vintage/old school look.

I sealed the look with these Steve Madden black mules I found in Burlington for $24. Perfect block heels and very comfortable. My sunglasses, yes, this tinted lens cat eye sunglasses is from SheIn for $5. And there you have it my vintage/old school look. My versatile wallet is from Bealls Outlet. Did you like?

Whatever you want, whatever you dream of doing go after it and don’t be afraid. Stop worrying about where the support will come from. You will be surprised at the impact you will have and the people you will influence. There goes your support!
