Spring Cleaning...
Hey lovelies! What’s popping?
So last week I was home all week for spring break. Yeah!!! Can you tell a girl was happy to lay in bed until I felt like getting out? Well that was the case all week.
With spring up on us a little cleaning was bound to be in the mix. Not just cleaning of the house or closet but also cleaning/cleansing of the mind, body and soul. Its good to rid ourselves of unwanted drama and baggage that holds us back.
Spring is the season that signifies rebirth, rejuvenation, renewal and regrowth. Even though spring is synonymous to plants growing and blooming; humans can also relate to this by clearing house and allowing ourselves room to grow and bloom as well.
In the process of spring cleaning we get a chance to reorganize our home and get rid of things we don’t need anymore. Some of us move furniture around and change our decor to create that spring ambiance.
For me spring cleaning includes the above mentioned in addition to getting my closet together. By that I mean picking out and organizing my spring/summer attires. Finding clothes that I haven’t worn in a while and making sure they are spring ready.
As promised on one of my Instagram post a few weeks ago I will be restyling old pieces and mixing them with new pieces. That’s why spring cleaning is important as doing so allow you to see some of the clothes, shoes and accessories that you haven’t worn in a while. Its time to bring them in rotation.
So, lets get it on and popping!
After spring cleaning, I came up with a few pieces – old and new. First up is the white Tahari vest from Macys. I bought it over a year ago and have already worn it twice before now. I added it to today’s outfit because it helps to tone the outfit down. A white jacket or vest is a good piece of garment to add to your spring closet.
The lace bodysuit is from SheIn and I’m in love with the color and of course the price $11, plus it matched my Guess shoes that I bamboozled my sister out of. I saw them in her car trunk and I was able to take one foot, I kept it for months until she gave in and gave me the other foot. Haha! Don’t judge me…
Nice ripped jeans, right? Yes! They are old though. Bought them from Gojane over two years ago and they fit great. A jeans pants is a staple in the closet as it can be easily styled. As the spring/summer seasons go on we will see more and more jeans pants being worn.
I am feeling the tiny sun glasses trend and I’m gently weaving my way into it with this number from Charlotte Russe for $5. You know I got a few right? I have waited a long time before taking this color block bag from Aldo to play. I bought it last summer when I went to New York, on sale of course. It matched my outfit perfectly and added the finishing touch to this simple yet chic look.
This spring go through your closet and drawers, bring back some of those outfits you’ve placed in the back or at the bottom. Mix and match, see what you come up with. Thank you all so much for reading. Please follow me on Instagram @Kass_Stylz for more spring looks and fashion finds.
