Why You Need a Little Black Dress...
With the holidays fast approaching and parties popping everywhere, having a little black dress in your closet will save you time and coins. Let me just go ahead and say that the “Little Black Dress” (LBD) is a closet essential and every woman should own one. It should be affordable, long lasting and versatile! The LBD should be so versatile that it can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion.
So, why do I need a little black dress you may ask? Well, its perfect for just about any and every event. If you are planning on going on a date, a formal or semi-formal event a little black dress can be your go to.
Earlier I stated that having a LBD will save you time and coins. Best believe that you will get your money’s worth from owning one. Since you can wear it to any and every event there is, you will be saving your coins and time spent searching for another outfit. The more you wear your little black dress, the more you will feel like buying it was money well spent.
Let’s talk about the color black really quick. Besides me being a lover of the color, black symbolizes sophistication, elegance and prestige. Black can also add a sexy tone, powerful or authority. Regardless of what you think the color symbolize, I must say black looks good on everyone and that’s reason enough for you to get a little black dress.
Who said you must own one little black dress? No one! I have about 5 little black dresses and none of them look the same. There are so many different styles of little black dresses, you can pick, choose and refuse. And let’s not get into the type of fabric used to make them.
Fashion enthusiasts have been wearing the little black dress before I was born, and they will never go out of style. It is a staple, which means that every girl should have one in their closet. If I sound like I’m repeating myself, its because I’m trying to make sure you get the point that you need a LBD.
Let’s get into the details of my little black dress from Nasty Gal. I especially love this one because of the long puffy sleeves which is a fall trend. The v-neckline cut adds a little edge and also how it hugs my body. The moment I saw this dress I knew I had to get it because of the price point $20 and it would go well with my shape.
I opted to dress up my look for a date night/formal evening vibe by adding flame heels from Citi Trends and a mini BCBGeneration bag also from Citi Trends. Keeping the dress up chic look, I added statement earrings from SheIn and pull up my hair in a puff so that I wouldn’t take away from the earrings and dress. And I can’t leave my house without a belt, lol…
Black goes well with almost any color so I added the color in my makeup. I went with burgundy eyeshadow and lips. If you’re wondering who did my makeup, I did! Yes hunni, your girl is getting better and better at this makeup thing. Let me learn to contour and y’all are cancelled, lol…
Now that you’ve read this post, do you think you need a little black dress in your closet, or do you already have a few? Let me know in the comments so we can keep this conversation going.
